Environmental, resource, techno-economic and social assessment
The sustainability of the new integrated biorefinery will be assessed and compared against a conventional mushroom farm. To secure the competitiveness of the concept, this sustainability assessment will include an economic evaluation of the biorefinery process. Additionally, the project will demonstrate that the BIOrescue concept could be a source of job and wealth creation within the European Union.
As the circular economy is not only related to the environment but also to human health and social behaviours, the potential social, health and policy impacts of the project will also be determined.
