BIOrescue process presented in Madrid

26.04.2019

On 25 April, BIOrescue partner CENER (National Renewable Energy Centre of Spain), represented by Goizeder Barberena Ibañez, introduced its activities within the project at the Third forum for Agricultural Biotechnology in Madrid. The Forum, organised by ASEBIO, the Spanish Bioindustry Association, gathered a wide variety of stakeholders from the sectors, from researchers to industry representatives.

The BIOrescue project, coordinated by CENER, aims to develop a new biorefinery concept to give a new life to used mushroom compost. Within the project, CENER tested the main steps of this new biorefinery process, including biomass fractionation and pretreatment, in dedicated facilities, the Biorefinery and Bioenergy centre, located in Pamplona.
