Lauch of the Global Biobased Business Competition

08.12.2016

The first annual Global Biobased Business competition (G-BiB) has been launched on 31 October by the BioInnovation Growth mega-Cluster. The objective of this competition is to promote the development of innovative bio-based products and stimulate entrepreneurship in the biobased economy sector.

To win the competition, groups of Master and PhD students will have to design an innovative and sustainable business plan for the production of a biorenewable product such as biofuels, biochemicals or biomaterials. The jury, to be appointed by the BioInnovation Growth mega-Cluster, will evaluate the quality, the originality and the viability of the proposed business plans and nominate three teams for the finals that will be held at the 3rd Brazilian BioEnergy Science and Technology Conference. At this occasion, participants will have the opportunity to present their project to a wider audience and a final award of €10.000 will be granted to the winner for the optimisation and implementation of the business plan.

The participation in the competition is open to teams of minimum two Master or PhD students from German, Dutch and Brazilian Universities and the deadline for registration is Monday 12 December 2016.
