MetGen wins the John Sime award for biotechnology

BIOrescue project partner MetGen has won the 2016 edition of the John Sime Award for the most innovative new technology presented at the European Forum for Industrial Biotechnolgy and the Bioeconomy (EFIB).

The enzymes developed by MetGen are natural catalysts able to accelerate chemical reactions. Over the past years, MetGen has designed innovative enzymatic processes to unlock the potential of wood and forestry residues as future feedstocks for bio-based products.

In the framework of the BIOrescue project, the company will provide the enzymes needed for the conversion of mushroom compost into innovative bio-based products and contribute to the development of an innovative enzymatic hydrolisis process.
